This has been my project car for the last 1.5 years. It started with an '87 Jetta GLI that I had picked up from a friend for $450. I swapped a complete g60 swap from a Corrado in. Ran that motor for 30 mins and pulled it back out.
Then I started building a 16v turbo motor. I had that about 90% complete when I had the opportunity to pick up an '01 Jetta 1.8T for cheap. I sold off all the 16v stuff and bought the 1.8t.
Fast forward to about a month ago. I picked up an '86 Jetta GLI Wolfsburg "Pirelli Edition" for $450. It had been sitting for 3+ years because of a bad clutch. I brought fresh gas, a good battery, a tire pump and cash and drove the car home and immediately began pulling it apart. This shell is much nicer than the '87 that I was building so everything had to be moved over!
1 month later the "NEW" car is on the road and turning heads where ever it goes!
